VHYes movie page imdb. | Nick Allen January 17, 2020 A sense of humor is a funny thing, especially for those of us who treasure the weird stuff. When something that's "out there" works, it’s true love. When it doesn’t, it’s like a bad date that had huge promise until it got underway. Jack Henry Robbins' “VHYes, ” with all of its nostalgia for late ‘80s TV and its endemic cheesiness, follows after the likes of Weird Al Yankovic's masterpiece " UHF, " Casper Kelly's endlessly loopable opening credits hellscape "Too Many Cooks, " and even the Kyle Mooney skits that are "cut for time" on "Saturday Night Live. " And while I adore all of those polarizing works, I didn't see what was funny about the shallow wackiness of "VHYes. " Advertisement Shot entirely on VHS and Betamax, the whole of "VHYes" is presented as the contents of a video tape, which was initially used to film the wedding for the parents of a young boy named Ralph ( Mason McNulty). When Ralph gets a camera for Christmas in 1987, and learns that he can record from the TV, it opens a world of possibilities. Namely, whatever he can find on the TV that is weird to him at the time. In one of its many abrupt, fuzzy cuts, an excited young Ralph jumps on his bed and says that he wants to create the ultimate video playlist, and soon into watching “VHYes” you accept that that’s all you’re going to get.  Instead of feeling like the chaos of a found tape, “VHYes” assembles itself like a series of sketches that it can bounce between, with random peeks back at the original wedding video contents; it struggles to have a heart by intermittently making it a story about Ralph realizing the truth behind his parents' marriage. Some sketch set-ups are directly, lazily recognizable to TV history: one cop parody steals the red and blue text from “Law and Order” because you wouldn’t get that it’s meant to parody if it didn’t have that logo. As if a tell on its weak absurdity, "VHYes" has yet another parody on TV painting instructor Bob Ross (even after Deadpool did it), with a segment starring Kerri Kenney, who turns the zen of such a host into the mindset of a creepy person who believes in aliens.  The very nostalgia within the concept becomes a pit, even when “VHYes” threatens to get truly weird. It’s not until the final minutes that the movie taps into the reality-bending that had been hinted at earlier, when Ralph started to see himself in the stuff he was watching, after one segment involved a VHS expert talking about the soul-suck that will be handheld recording in the future. Many parody sketches don’t have a discernible reference to build on (the recognition is what makes it initially funny), and instead rely on a shallow cheesiness. Even though "VHYes" features many dynamic funny people like Kenney, Thomas Lennon, Mark Prosch, Charlyne Yi, and Robbins' parents ( Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon), many of the characters in these sketches are so broad they aren't particularly clever. “VHYes” breaks the biggest rule of parody, over and over again: it simply tries way too hard with material that’s far too easy. That’s the case with an adult film bit that goes for low-hanging fruit of bad acting, as one guy is poorly reading cue cards in a late night movie about three alien women. Or there's an ongoing true-crime show about how a sorority thought one of their sisters was a witch because she did magic, which is a funny premise given a flat execution. The commercials that are thrown in the mix, like about a violent security company, or pads to sound-proof your bathroom, are like random splatters of paint whose only intention is to fulfill the project's obvious self-amusement.  While “VHYes” is very much inspired by the media experience of 1987, it’s actually about a very modern hell: Your friend sits you down to show you something really funny on YouTube, but oh, no—they’ve misjudged your sense of humor. Now you’re stuck, watching all of it, trying to find something funny to offer a polite relief. I started to feel trapped by my obligation to watch something that could very well have been my type, but now I’m just grateful the filmmakers of “VHYes” didn’t watch me watch it in laughless silence. I'm watching it. VHYes movie page. January 16, 2020 11:50PM PT An old camcorder tape harbors a jumble of ersatz ’80s home movies and broadcast clips in this lukewarm comedy-skit assembly. Its slim premise involving a couple of 13-year-old boys having fun with a camcorder in the late ’80s, “ VHYes ” is maybe a little too faithful to their sensibility — being exactly what a kid raised on “Saturday Night Live, ” “SCTV, ” and maybe cable broadcasts of “Kentucky Fried Movie” would imagine as the coolest home-made movie ever. It’s a freeform jumble of skits spoofing vintage broadcast series, commercials, public access shows, porn, and whatnot, their mildly surreal bent increasing as the short feature goes on. Duly shot on VHS and digital Betacam, this first feature for Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon’s son Jack Henry Robbins is an amiable goof deploying cameos by the ’rents as well as some other familiar faces. But it’s the kind of enterprise that will only seem as funny, clever, and “weird” as it means to be if watched while very stoned and/or adolescent. There are scattered laughs on offer, albeit nothing that hasn’t been done much better elsewhere, whether in “Putney Swope” half a century ago, in more recent viral sitcom hallucination “Too Many Cooks, ” or in the ongoing clip shows of the Found Footage Festival, which excavates real VHS-era oddities more hilariously strange than anything here. Oscilloscope is opening “VHYes” limited in U. S. theaters on Jan. 17. Conceived by the director, co-writer Nunzio Randazzo, and Nate Gold, the film starts with wedding and holiday home movies that we soon realize are being obliviously taped over by Ralph (Mason McNulty), whose parents (Jake Head, Christian Drerup) have given him a camcorder for Christmas 1987. Of course he immediately and obsessively starts filming anything and everything, with or without best friend Josh (Rahm Braslaw). But he also uses the device to record shows off television. Thus we see random snippets of children’s program “The Kindly the Cowboy Show, ” public access instructional “Painting with Joan” (Kerri Kenney playing the titular hostess), a different amateur cable slot with teen Charlyne Yi presenting musical guests in her basement, clone-themed sitcom “Ten of the Same, ” aerobic exercise forum “Blastoff, ” informercial and antiques-evaluation shows, et cetera. Among the better bits are a home-security-system advert that turns into a bloodbath, and a couple severely truncated XXX features (all the sex edited out), with an amusing Cameron Simmons as various brainless studs put to good use by lady scientists and sexy Swedish space aliens. There’s a bit of savvy commentary when a media expert interviewed on a talk show is dismissed as crazy for predicting a future in which people risk accidents and neglect their real lives in pursuit of compulsively filming themselves — i. e. our selfie-riddled present. The movie also arrives at a sort of narrative climax when our young protagonists investigate a “haunted sorority house” abandoned after a fire, suffering some “Blair Witch”-style frights there. But all this is pretty thin stuff, written with medium-watt inspiration at best and acted by performers variably able to make it seem better than it is. The best thing the film has going for it is editor Avner Shiloah’s scrambled channel-surfing assembly, which seldom sticks with any bit long enough for it to get too stale. Still, “VHYes” feels overextended even at the 66 slim minutes it takes to reach the final credits. The world at present is too over-saturated with pop culture satire (and unwitting self-satire) for this kind of sub-“Funny or Die” material to feel worth the effort, though a good time was surely had by all concerned. O julgamento de Lavona Solomon no tribunal superior da Cidade do Cabo começou em agosto de 2015. Tanto Miché quanto seus pais biológicos estavam lá para ouvir o testemunho de Lavona. Para ter 'estabilidade' em sua vida, Miché decidiu morar com seu 'pai', Michael, e esperar Lavona sair da prisão Durante o julgamento, Lavona Salomon negou ter cometido o crime. Falou sobre sua vontade de ser mãe, seus vários abortos espontâneos e seu desespero de adotar um filho. Lavona disse que recebeu Miché de uma mulher chamada Sylvia, que estava fazendo tratamento de fertilidade. Sylvia teria dito a Lavona que o bebê pertencia a uma jovem que não estava interessada em mantê-lo e queria que o bebê fosse adotado. Mas não havia evidências de que Sylvia existisse. Além disso, quase duas décadas após o incidente, uma testemunha identificou Lavona como a mulher que diz ter visto vestida de enfermeira levando Zephany do hospital onde Celeste dormia. O tribunal concluiu que Lavona era culpada. Em 2016, Lavona Salomon foi condenada a 10 anos de prisão por sequestro, fraude e violação do Estatuto das Crianças. Como posso acreditar em sua palavra quando você mentiu para mim, dizendo que sou sua filha? Você quebrou minha confiança. Tem que me falar a verdade se quiser continuar a me ver. " "E ela respondeu: 'Um dia eu vou te contar. ' Ela diz que não me roubou, mas acho que está mentindo. " No entanto, Miché diz que não guarda rancor. We are not professional movie reviewers or anything like that but absolutely enjoyed all the different emotions in this movie, it was Charming, Comical, Witty, Action Packed, Heart Warming, Suspenseful, and more! We also loved the relationship between David Batista & Chloe Coleman. just Precious, and their performances charming! There was some violence and language but nothing bloody or disgusting.

You know what any kid can relate to? Having to explain video games to adults, especially to seniors. Even I, an adult, can still have trouble when my grandmother wants an explanation of the news she hears about Fortnite or something about Nintendo. Looking at it from their perspective, I can't blame them. Video games are toys that are more complex and involve a level of storytelling that's miles away from the traditional "Cowboys and Indians" they played as children. Unlike a yo-yo or a Barbie toy that's self explanatory, video games always have different rules and instructions depending on it's genre. So how do you explain something that's always going to be different? I'd say it's best just throwing them in there and let experience be the guide.
When it came to learning about game figuring out how to win, it was oddly the premise from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Yes, it may have been a sequel to the 90s classic, but it was also an enjoyable action movie that got several laughs out of me. It was a big enough of hit to gain a sequel. So how do you continue the story without repeating it? Jumanji: The Next Level doesn't also a good way.
It's been a couple of years and the group of teenager from the first movie, Spencer, Fridge, Martha, and Bethany have all entered college and haven't seen each other in a while. Spencer is concerned that his dull experience in New York and sad demeanor will seem unimpressive compared to what his friends have done. Still, Fridge, Martha, and Bethany meet up at a restaurant to catch up, hoping that Spencer can talk about his troubles. They visit his house to find him, only to be greated by his grandpa Eddie (played by Danny DeVito) and another senior, Milo (played by Danny Glover.
The teens go into the basement to find the Jumanji game they thought was destroyed repaired and figure out that Spencer went inside. But just as they touch the controller, they're sucked in without picking their characters. Martha is still Ruby (played by Karen Gillan) but Fridge is now Professor Shelly (played by Jack Black) Eddie is Dr. Bravestone (Played by Dwayne Johnson) and Milo is now Moose (played by Kevin Hart. Along with two old men confused with the new environment their in, the game has changed and they still don't know where Spencer is.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a movie I liked, but didn't love. Jumanji: The Next Level is about the same. There's a lot of different things I elements that seem have not changed for no reason. To start off, Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart do a great job imitating Danny DeVito and Danny Glover. It's like watching Grumpy Old Men if it happened to be a video game action movie. And to see the other actors frustrate over their incompetence. Thankfully, they don't go on too long with that gag, though I can't say why without spoiling it.
When the movie cuts to the real world, the scenes are also fine, though when it comes to the characters, I don't know why they put Spencer's character back to square one, making him out of his element. I know college is going to be a different experience for kids, but he was the kind of guy who would have gained confidence from that place, let alone from the Jumanji game. I was hoping they'd say he was going through depression or something more. But, nope, he was just feeling cause the movie said to.
The other teens don't have much in the way dilemmas their going through. This is probably why the majority of the story goes to Danny DeVito and his friendship with Danny Glover. It's a strange thing to put into the Jumanji series, but it works because both are phenomial actors.
As a blockbuster, the movie has plenty of action and tries to continue the tradition of jungle animals out on the hunt. It's not as scary as the original Jumanji of the 90s, but I still had fun, especially within a sequence involving rope bridges and a ton of baboons.
I'll give this seven Jumanji video games out of ten. This is an example of a movie that may have added new problems, but it also improves of a lot of things. I had fun watching this and I think a lot of families will have fun too. If you hear the drumbeats, it's Jumanji calling, so take a listen.

The movie would have scored 10 stars with me, but once again entertainment gives way to the lowest common denominator and chooses profanity over a good, clean cut family movie. Disappointing to say the least when your six year old is repeating back everything he's hearing on screen and you're embarrassed/horrified and ticked off at Hollywood because he's repeating back the profanity. We looked forward as FAMILY (with a younger child) to seeing this sequel. We all walked away saying the movie was good, except for all the swearing. It just WASN'T NECESSARY.

So I went to see it yesterday night and I was very disappointed, the acting most of the time was very cheesy, the storyline itself was confusing, I even heard a woman next to me asking her date on what was going on, since the movie jumps between 3 storylines set in different times while not clearly making it obvious to the viewers.
The worst part of it all is the horror part of it. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE Grudge! if you are hoping to see the same ghosts we always loved, well good luck, because they don't have anything to do with this movie! The neck breaking sound that terrified us all in the original is used in every turn here for no reason when there is not reason for it being used since the ghosts used in this movie did not die as the famous mother and son of the original!
Then there is the ghosts and the jump-scares! OMG were they bad! I wasn't scared once, ghosts look like your typical ghosts in all Cheesy American horror movies, jump-scares are very basic and obvious that you won't even be scared of it.
This is not the grudge and this is not horror, the audience in my theatre laughed once or twice during the movie a the ghosts appearance and how boring they were.

Was it purely a divine sign, created miraculously to mark a special birth? Or was it an astronomical event in its own right? David Reneke, news editor of Australia’s Sky and Space Magazine, believes astronomers may have found the answer – or at least something that fits all the known facts – basing his research on the highly esteemed gospel according to Matthew, the first of the four gospels in the New Testament. It would appear to be the first written and this version places key players together in the same time period. “It’s generally accepted by most researchers that Christ was born between 3 BC and 1 AD. ” says Dave. Historical records and modern-day computer simulations indicate a rare series of planetary groupings, also known as conjunctions, during the years 3 BC and 2 BC In fact, this was one of the most remarkable periods in terms of celestial events in the last 3, 000 years! “Like the final pieces of a difficult jig-saw puzzle, our fabled biblical beacon is starting to reveal itself, ” David said. “On 12 August, 3 BC, Jupiter and Venus appeared very close together just before sunrise, appearing as bright morning ‘stars. ’ It would have been visible in the eastern dawn sky of the Middle East from about 3:45 to 5:20 a. m. ” But it didn’t stop there. The crowning touch came ten months later, on 17 June 2 BC, as Venus and Jupiter joined up again in the constellation Leo. This time the two planets were so close that, without the use of our modern optical aids, they would have looked like one single, brilliant star. According to Dave’s research, Jupiter was known as the “planet of Kings” and Saturn as the “Protector of the Jews”. This could easily have been interpreted as a sign that the Jewish Messiah had been, or was about to be, born. Also, Leo was thought to denote royalty and power. An interpretation? Perhaps. But, do not forget the times in which this occurred. Astronomy and astrology intermingled. This whole sequence of events could have been enough for at least three astrologers to see this as sign in the heavens and make their way Jerusalem. “Now, this doesn’t mean that astrology works, ” Reneke said. “We haven’t ruled out other possibilities for the Star of Bethlehem but it does make our search more rewarding to find a truly interesting astronomical event that happened during the most likely time for the Nativity. ” Whatever the Star of Bethlehem was, it has had more impact on humankind than any star before or since. It is also possible that the mystery of the Star will never be completely solved. For many of us though, it is the mystery itself that drives us to find the solution. So if you need a well-deserved break (from all that shopping) to do something with the family, Sony Pictures Animation’s The Star is now playing in theaters. We got to attend its World Premiere earlier this month and it was great way for us to kick-off the Holiday season. AND for my kids to learn about the meaning of Christmas, from the animals’ perspective. The Star is about   a small but brave donkey named Bo who yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day he finds the courage to break free, and finally goes on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, a lovable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave, a dove with lofty aspirations. Along with three wisecracking camels and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become unlikely heroes in the greatest story ever told – the first Christmas. The kids and I loved it  except  Ronan (who’s two years old) did get a little scared with the two dogs (the antagonists) but with a little reassurance he was fine…it’s a happy ending for all the animals! It fills in the five-year gap between the last film in the  tri. series and  Kizuna, and is currently available online to watch for free. The focus is mainly on Sora and establishing she has decided to take a step back from her duties as a Chosen Child. She is no longer taking part in the action, and instead focussing on her autonomy and working towards the future she wants for herself. This is an interesting set up going into  Kizuna, and may hint at some potential conflict. 5 Cast The Japanese cast members from  Digimon Adventure tri.  will be reprising their roles for this film. Biyomon and Gatomon were also re-cast with Cherami Leigh and Kate Higgins. Thankfully, Joshua Seth came back to voice the lead character, Tai. Hopefully, he will return for  Kizuna in the future. 4 Kōji Wada Kōji Wada was the composer of the original series. He's the one behind "Brave Heart" and original opening song "Butter-Fly" - which is arguably better than the war chant theme song done for the US Dub. Wada was also involved in  Digimon Adventure tri.,  remixing "Butter-Fly" for the new opening, as well as "Seven~tri. Version. " Sadly, Wada passed away in 2016 from nasopharynx cancer. His legacy lives on in the video game  Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory, as Hudiemon, a butterfly Digimon.  Last Evolution Kizuna  may not have Wada's involvement, but it can be expected his music will be included in some way as a tribute. 3 Building Towards The Epilogue The epilogue at the end of  02  caused a significant divide within the fandom. Some members of the fandom are fine with the epilogue - flash forwarding to 2027, showing everyone in the world has a Digimon partner, and Yamato and Sora got married - whereas other fans were upset their favorite couple wasn't the endgame. The showrunners for  tri. and  Kizuna  have maintained that they are working with the epilogue in mind, and working towards that goal. As such, in  To Sora,  we find out that Yamato has settled on studying for a career in Astrophysics, putting him on path to become an astronaut (and marry Sora) as established in the epilogue. Furthermore, Takeru is a university freshman studying Literature and English, and Hikari is studying early childhood education - both of which line up with their future careers. Again, some fans will be upset that these two are unlikely to end up a long-term couple. 2 End Of Series? Unlike the  Pokemon  anime, the  Digimon Adventure  franchise has seen its characters grow up from childhood to adolescence, and now adulthood. But as it was established in  Digimon Adventure tri., Chosen Children are meant to be children, and as the characters age the bond with their Digimon partners is at risk of ending.  Last Evolution: Kizuna  will mark the end of the series for Taichi and the other Chosen Children. For now. A reboot of the original series is set to debut in April this year. The upcoming  Digimon Adventure: Ψ will be set in 2020, but with the characters de-aged to their original childhood ages. 1 Release Date The film is set to debut in Japanese cinemas on February 21. It will receive a US release through Fathom Events on March 25, in its original Japanese audio with English subtitles. We can predict that the film will eventually make its way online to sites such as Crunchyroll, for accessibility for those outside the US. Likewise, as was the case with the  Digimon Adventure tri.  films we can predict that there will eventually be an English Dub and DVD/Blu-Ray release.
